Khaleda seeks repeal of charge framing order in Niko graft case

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has filed a petition with the High Court seeking repeal of the charge framing order in the Niko graft case that was filed 16 years before.
Barrister Kayser Kamal, a counsel of the BNP Chairperson and also the Legal Affairs Secretary of BNP, filed the petition on Wednesday on behalf of his party chief. The lawyer said they will take initiatives for hearing on the petition in due course of time.
Earlier on March 19, this year, Judge of the Special Judge’s Court-9 in Dhaka, Sheikh Md Hafizur Rahman, framed charges against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and seven others in the Niko graft case. The judge also fixed May 23 for testimony in the case.
