DU holds ‘Ka’ unit admission test

Examinees along with guardians crowd at Arts Building on Dhaka University campus as ‘Ka’ unit admission test held on Friday in the capital and seven divisional cities.

The Dhaka University (DU) entrance examination of science unit (Ka) for the 2022-23 academic session was held from 11:00am to 12:30pm peacefully on Friday.

The examination was held in Dhaka city and other seven divisional cities simultaneously following the practice of previous years.

At least 69 candidates fought for each seat as a number of 1,27,079 admission seekers applied for this unit under the supervision of Sciences Faculty against 1,851 seats.

The examinees faced 100 marks question including 60 marks for multiple choice (MCQ) and 40 marks for written.

The examination took place in different universities, schools and colleges including seven divisional universities – Chittagong University, Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet, Barishal University, and Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.

DU Pro-vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Samad visited the examination centre of Curzon Hall while Pro-vice Chancellor ASM Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and others were present.

While visiting, Dr Muhammad Samad said that the examination was held peacefully and there is no chance of any unwanted situation as the the joint efforts of officials, proctor’s office, government’s intelligence agency.

Requesting all not to listen any kind of rumour of question lack, he said, “Strict action has been taken against those who were associated with the leak of this question and we sent the question papers to the centers through digital tracking syster. So, I urge everyone not to listen rumours.” “There is no opportunity to postpone the admission test of which is scheduled to be held on today for the circumstance of cyclone Mocha,” he added.

The admission test will be ended by holding the entry test of Business Administration (Ga) unit today.

A number of 41,368 admission seekers applied under the Business Studies Faculty against 1,050 seats. In that case, 39 admission seekers will vie for a seat in this test.
