Rooppur nuclear fuel readiness certificate signed

Nuclear Fuel (Uranium) Readiness Certificate of the first unit of the under-construction Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has been officially signed in Russia. The protocol was
signed on May 5 in Novosibirsk, the capital of the Siberian region of the Russian Federation, at the office of the state agency Rosatom State Corporation, Rosatom's
subsidiary Twelve (TVEL).This historical protocol was signed on behalf of Bangladesh by the Project Director of Rooppur Nuclear Power Project, Dr. Atomic Scientist. AV

readiness certificate of nuclear fuel (uranium).
The project director from Russia said on the phone that with the signing of this protocol,a new milestone has been reached in the progress of nuclear power generation in a
peaceful way. According to the general contract signed in 2015, the Russian Federation will provide us with 36 months of energy security as an integral part of the stipulated contract. That is, after the first day of commercial electricity production, there is no need to pay separately for fuel for the next three years. As a result of the signing of this protocol and readiness certificate between the two, there is no more hindrance in the production of fuel as per international regulations and IAEA guidelines and regulatory requirements.
The historic protocol signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Kamrul Ahsan, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Russian Federation, Deputy Director of the project, Dr. Jahedul Hasan, Head of Project Finance and Administration Department Alok Chakraborty, Nuclear Councilor Shubashis Sardar.
Project Director Dr. Shaukat Akbar for inspection of all preparations related to energy production in Russia and signing of nuclear fuel (uranium) readiness certificate. A delegation of 3 members headed by went to Russia.
Project stakeholders say that Bangladesh will officially join the international nuclear club after the import and storage of fuel (uranium) is completed. In addition to getting this
status, Bangladesh will also be known as a nuclear power country in the world. Also,there will be no major challenges to start production in the power plant.
Incidentally: Russia's State Atomic Energy Agency (Rosatom) is implementing the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. Russia is providing 90% of the project costing about 1 lakh 14 thousand crores as loan assistance. The two-unit Rooppur nuclear power plant is scheduled to start production with the first unit in 2024 and the second unit in 2025.
According to this project, the project is going on.
