Aspiring teachers demand cancellation of NTRCA results

Staff Reporter  :
A group of aspiring teachers seeking recruitment in private educational institutions are demanding the cancellation of the ‘flawed results’ of the fourth notification of the Non-Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA).
The demands came during a human chain held in front of the NTRCA office in the capital on Sunday. But they were prevented by the police to carry out their programme saying that such event cannot be held in the VIP area of Eskaton Garden Road.
Later some of the protesters met with the NTRCA Chairman to press home their demands. The event was concluded with a promise from the Chairman to look into the matter.
Anisur Rahman, the convener of the Teachers Forum, told the media that the job seekers wanted to hold a peaceful human chain with banners and placards demanding the cancellation of the flawed results of the NTRCA in the morning.
At that time, police arrived at the scene and obstructed the demonstration. At one stage, the protesters’ banners were also removed.
About their demand, he said, “We had preferred various institutions for our recruitment, but we were not recommended for those. However, many candidates who are behind us in the merit list have been recommended for those institutions. We have already filed a written complaint with the relevant authorities on this issue before. But we have not benefited from it. That is why we are compelled to hold a demonstration.”
NTRCA Chairman Md Enamul Kader Khan told them: “Many of those who are protesting have applied to us. Their applications are being verified. A decision will be made about them later. However, many of the protesters are already employed or indexed in other institutions. The roll numbers of these candidates were blocked, which could cause problems. I will re-verify and select the applications.”
Meanwhile, they protesters said that they want the recommendation based on their academic achievements, preferences, and the NTRCA notification. After obtaining assurance from the chairman, he demonstrators left the place.
