Integrated efforts crucial to ensure occupational safety, rights

KISHOREGANJ : The Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment (DIFE) including District Administration jointly brought out a rally in Kishoreganj Town on Friday marking the National Occupational Health and Safety Day ' led by SP Mohammad Rasel Sheikh, ADC (General) Farhad Chowdhury .

The national occupational health and safely day-2023 was. observed in the country in a befitting manner on Friday.
In Kishoreganj, Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment including District Administration have arranged a colour full rally, discussion, handbills and Ganji -Cap distribution marking the national occupational health and safety day on Friday.
This year’s theme of the day : Ensure a decent workplace, build a smart Bangladesh ‘.
Police Super (SP) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PMM( Bar) attended as chief guest, while ADC (General) A.T.M Farhad Chowdhury presided over the programme. A discussion meeting was held at local Collectorate Conference room on Friday morning.
It was addressed among others by Additional SP (Admin & Finance) Mustaque Sarker, as special guest, Dr. Mahabubur Rahman, Senior Medical Officer of Civil Surgeon (CS) Office, Senior Assistant Commissioner & Executive Magistrate Babul Chandra Sutradhar, Senior journalist and CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club president Mostafa Kamal, Transport Workers leader Abdul Kaiyum and DIG in Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment (DIFE) Shah Mofakurrul Islam.
ADC (General) Farhad Chowdhury said that this year’s theme of the day ‘Nishchito Kori Shovon Kormo Poribesh, Gore Tuli Smart Bangladesh , ‘ was very time-befitting and appropriate one.

However, the government under the dynamic and prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledged to ensure occupational safety.
To this end, the government has been observing the National Occupational Health and Safety Day on April 28 every year since 2016, taking occupational health and safety as an important issue for all industries.
Administrative officials and others concerned made the observation while addressing a post-rally discussion on the issue held at the office conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) here Thursday.
District administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) jointly organized the meeting to mark the observance of the National Occupational Health and Safety Day-2023′.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Nishchito Kori Shovon Kormo Poribesh, Gore Tuli Smart Bangladesh (Ensure a decent workplace, build a smart Bangladesh)’.
Additional DC Kolyan Chowdhury addressed the meeting as the chief guest with DIFE Deputy Inspector General Ariful Islam in the chair.
Senior Vice-president of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Abdul Awal, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hassan Millat and Assistant Director of the department of labour and employment Mijanur Rahman addressed the meeting as resource persons disseminating their expertise on the issue.
