CAAB imposes restriction on traffic movement on Airport Road for 7 hours

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has imposed restriction on traffic movement on the Airport Road for 7 hours from Friday night.
A notification issued by the CAAB on Wednesday said, “All types of vehicular movement on the Airport road will be restricted from 11pm Friday to 6 am on Saturday due to the construction work of the flyover in front of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third Terminal.”
It suggested the drivers and owners of heavy and freight vehicles to move using alternate roads.
Earlier on March 28, a notice was issued stating traffic movement on the Airport road will be restricted for seven hours
from 11 pm on Fridays to 11 am on Saturday for the construction of a bridge of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Earlier on August 15, 2022, at least five people, including two children, were crushed to death after a girder, part of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, fell on a car in Dhaka’s Airport Road.
Earlier on March 14, 2021, six people including three Chinese workers were injured after a girder in the construction site for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project collapsed in front of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
