Bangla-Lanka final Test begins today

Sabbir Hossain :After tasting an innings and 248-run defeat in the first Test by Sri Lanka at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on January 30, Bangladesh led by wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will meet Sri Lanka led by Angelo Mathews in the second and final Test, which begins today at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. The match starts at 9.30 am BST (Bangladesh Standard Time).State-owned television channel Bangladesh Television will telecast the match live from the stadium. Besides, Maasranga Television, a private satellite channel will also telecast the match live from the arena.Before today’s match, Bangladesh team and Sri Lanka team took part in the full-fledged practice sessions on Monday.Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim said, ” our records are good in this venue. So, we are confident. At least, there is a chance to play well. Win or defeat is the next chapter. I want to confirm that we will play consistent cricket. We want to play good cricket after session by session. If we play well, the result will come to in favour of us.”‘Senior players like me, Tamim and Shakib have to take up the responsibilty to get the runs.’ Mushfiq added.On the other hand, Captain of Sri Lanka team Angelo Mathews said, ” Bangladesh used to play well in their home ground. I think they will perform well here too. We are taking it as a challenge.” ‘We’re not very worried if Eranga and Herath can’t play tomorrow. We have Nuwan Pradeep who took a lot of wickets in the one Test that he played, in Dubai, so we have some bench strength.’ Mathews added.Meanwhile, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury is prepared to stage the second and final Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Shamsur Rahman, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (Captain & Wicketkeeper), Nasir Hossain, Mahmudullah Riyad/Abdur Razzak, Sohag Gazi, Rubel Hossain and Al-Amin Hossain.
