Ishwardi Rail Market to be evicted

After the notice of eviction of Ishwardi Railway Super Market, the Pakshy Railway Land Resources Office has ordered to remove the shops by painting red crosses on half a hundred shops.
Pakshy Railway Divisional Manager (DRM) Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad and Land Resources Officer Nuruzzaman on Sunday led the divisional officers, engineers and members of the security forces have came to the railway market and ordered to remove the shops after Eid. At the same time, these shops were marked with a red cross for evacuation.
Market trader Abul Kalam Azad said, We have been doing business here for 50 years by building a shop here on lease from the railway. Market traders are all small traders. This market is known as poor man’s market. Clothes are sold at low prices. Suddenly, the market traders were given an eviction notice before Eid. The railway authorities came today saying that it will be vacated after Eid for humanitarian reasons and put a red cross sign on the shop. Where will we all businessmen go now? We are demanding rehabilitation from the railways.
Businessman Akram Raihan Babu said, the small traders here have no place to go. Many parts of the railway are lying down. Railway authorities can rehabilitate these small traders on humanitarian grounds.
Railway Land Resources Officer Nuruzzaman said, Railways did not need this place for a long time. Now the place is needed for quick unloading of wagons coming from India. Notice has been given to the shopkeepers as per rules. The shop has been asked to move after Eid.
Railway Pakshi Divisional Manager (DRM) Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad said that wagons of Indian freight trains are loaded and unloaded at Ishwardi Malgudam Shed. Need more space.
That is why I have given a notice to vacate the market. This market has not been evacuated before Eid due to humanitarian reasons. Orders have been given to move the shop after Eid.
