19 kgs ganja seized in Fakirhat

Some 19 kgs ganja was seized along with a mini-truck (Dhaka Metro-Na-11-6639) by Fakirhat police from Dhaka-Mongla Port Highway at Town Noapara under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district in the early hours (at 1-15 am) recently.
ASP Rabiul Islsm Shamim, Fakirhat circle disclosed, acting on secret information that a big consignment of ganja is going from Dhaka to Mongla Port by a vehicle through the Dhaka- Mongla Highway a police squad of Fakirhat Model PS led by SI Bijoy Sarkar. ASI Khalilur Rahman and ASI Al-Mamun laid in ambush at Town Noapara area and after a long waiting they found a mini truck in suspicious movement. Then they (police) fallowed it. But sensing the presence of the police the drug traders parked the truck in a local filling station named Kamal filling station and fled away. Later, the police searched the truck, recovered 2 gunny bags containing 19 kgs ganja, seized the ganja loaded bags and the truck. After examining the footage of the c c camera installed with the filling station and using the modern technology police identified the drug traders The price of the seized ganja is more than Tk.9 lakh in the wholesale black market.
