Palmeiras win 25th Sao Paulo state title

Gabriel Menino struck two first-half goals as Palmeiras secured their 25th Sao Paulo state title on Sunday with a 4-0 home victory over Agua Santa. The result handed Palmeiras a 5-2 win on aggregate after Agua Santa prevailed 2-1 in the first leg. Menino struck in the 15th and 27th minutes before 16-year-old Endrick Felipe added a third just after the half hour. Agua Santa were reduced to 10 men just before halftime when teenage midfielder Villian Vieira was shown a red card for a violent challenge. Winger Jose Manuel Lopez completed the rout by netting his team’s fourth goal 17 minutes from time.
