Bangladesh-Ireland third T20I today

High-flying Bangladesh will take on minnows Ireland in the third and last Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.
The match will start at 2.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live from the venue.
The Tigers have already clinched the T20I series 2-0. Bangladesh eagerly expect to whitewash the series, while Ireland want to avoid whitewash by a earning a consolation win today.
The hosts posted a 22-run victory over the visitors in the first T20I at the same venue on March 27.
The home side notched up a massive 77-run victory over the touring side in the second T20I at the same venue on March 29.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and Ireland faced each other in the seven occasions. Of them, Bangladesh registered five victories, while Ireland won only one game and rest of the one match ended without a result.
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan showed an all-round performance in the second T20I match against Ireland. He remained unbeaten with 38 runs. He played just 24 balls. He hit two sixes and three fours. Later, the left-arm spinner captured five wickets in the space of 22 runs in his allotted four overs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance. Shakib Al Hasan is now the highest wickettaker in the T20I cricket. He claimed 136 wickets playing 114 T20I matches. Tim Southee of New Zealand has taken the second spot bagging 134 wickets in his T20I campaign.
After the second T20I, Shakib Al Hasan said, ” I am very happy that a Bangladesh bowler has taken the top spot grabbing highest wicket in T20I cricket. We tried to retain our consistent performance in the recently concluded previous matches. We have kept consistency in the field. If we want to be a big team, we have to perform our best from the first ball of the match. We discussed about that and we played according to our plan.”
He said, ” England, Australia and the other teams try to win three-match T20I series 3-0 after clinching the series 2-0. We shall try to do that. We shall give chance some newcomers as an experiment. They will be adamant to perform well.”
