Bangladesh will see mass uprising soon: BNP
Staff Reporter :
BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Tuesday said that Bangladesh will see a mass uprising soon to remove the ‘anti-people’ government.
“It is better if the present government can be removed from power as early as possible. This type of government doesn’t leave power voluntarily. So, it is necessary to create a mass upsurge to oust this government,” Dr Mosharraf said while speaking as the Chief Guest at a discussion at National Press Club in the capital.
Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) organised the discussion on ‘Fifty-two years of independence and devastated health system’ in observance of the Independence and National Day.
The BNP leader said, “A mass upsurge becomes successful when all professional bodies and people come forward to participate in it. Inshallah, such a mass uprising will happen in the country sooner rather that later” .
“The people have become united against the illegal government. They think that this government will not be able to correct anything else. Those who have killed democracy, they will never be able to return democracy,” he said.
Dr. Mosharraf Hossain accused the government of destroying the health sector of the country in its last 14 years era.
The former Health Minister said, “I have observed that how the health sector has been destroyed by this government in last 14 years. They destructed the sector through unabated partisanship”.
“Skilled physicians have not been posted in important places but sent to less important posts and places. As a result, the whole health sector has been destroyed,” Dr. Mosharraf said.
He said that those who have pushed the healthcare system to destruction, they will never be able to correct it. So, it is better if they are ousted from power as soon as possible.
DAB President Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid presided over the event while BNP leader Amanullah Aman, Peshajibi Parishad Secretary Generals Journalists leader Kader Gani Chowdhury, DAB leaders Dr. Abdus Salam, Dr. MA Salim, Dr. Zahirul Islam Shakeel, Mostak Rahim Swapan, Professor Dr. Md. Mosaddek Hossain Biswas Dumbel, Salim Bhuiyan, DAB Vice-President Dr. Shahid Hasans and Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, among others, were present.
