The consumers have to start fasting due to the pressure of increased prices of essential commodities. From rice to pulses, flour, oil, sugar, meat, vegetables, fruits-there is no commodity that has not gone up in price. The prices of some products have increased up to 60 per cent in the last one year. Again, the prices of products like garlic, dry chillies have increased by more than 100 per cent.
Kishoreganj’s Bara Bazar Marchent Shawpon Kari and others traders said that, the cost of import of goods has increased due to various reasons including the Russia-Ukraine war, the value of the dollar, and the impact of the Corona epidemic.
The prices of these products have increased in the world market. Which has an impact on the country’s market. However, consumers are unwilling to accept this. They claim that a syndicate is raising the prices of products. If not, why will the price increase so much?
On Thursday , Friday the day before fasting, it was found that the market of daily commodities was very high in Bara Bazar Kachari Bazar, puranthana Bazar and departmental shops in Kishoreganj town. Broiler chicken which is the most talked about product for the past few days is being sold at Tk 250 to Tk 260 per kg. But a year ago the price of broiler chicken was tk.140 to 145 per kg. Last year, the price of each Hali farm egg was Tk 32 to Tk 35. Which is being sold at 45 to 47 taka this year. Last year beef tk. 600 per kg. Which was seen to be sold at tk. 800 to 850 . Beef has increased by Tk 200.
The products that are usually most in demand during fasting include sugar, pulses, flour, oil and milk. Yesterday, it was seen that the prices of each of these products have increased uncontrollably.

Pangas Tk 200 to Tk 220, Pabda Tk 380 to Tk 450, Shoal Tk 550 to Tk 600, Tangra was seen to be sold at Tk 450 to Tk 500, Horn at Tk 400 to Tk 550 per kg.
The prices of all kinds of fruits have also increased. The quality dates were sold at Tk 700 to 1200 per kg, oranges at Tk 240 to Tk 250, Watermelons at Tk 50 to Tk 55, Apples at Tk 300 to Tk 320, Malta at Tk 320 to Tk 350, Grapes at Tk 350 to Tk 380 per kg gone, But even a week ago, these fruits were sold at a price of Tk 10 to Tk 50 per kg.
