Security guard killed in Ishwardi

Shahjahan Sheikh (52), a security worker of a government food warehouse, was killed by a train at Ishwardi railway gate. On Monday (March 13) around 10 am, he died on the spot after being crushed under the ‘Madhumati Express’ train bound for Faridpur from Ishwardi. Shahjahan Sheikh was the son of deceased Azahar Ali of village Ghokselunda of Aminpur police station in Pabna. He lived in the quarters of the food warehouse in front of the police station.
Eyewitness Amjad Hossain said that Shahjahan drank tea from Malek’s tea shop on the west side of the railway gate and crossed the railway line on his way back to the east side. The body was cut into two pieces and died on the spot. Fire service personnel reached the spot and recovered the body.
The leader of the fire service Makhleshur Rahman said that the body of Shahjahan Sheikh was recovered and handed over to the railway police.
