The Historic March 7 was observed in Kurigram with due respect. Kurigram District Administration, Police Administration, different socio-political,social and cultural organizations including the ruling Awami League placed floral wreath to the portrait of the Bangabadhu Sheikh Muzubur Rahman in the “Sadhinatar Bijoy Stambho” near Kurigram Stadium on Tuesday .
At the end of offering floral wreath, Monajat with Doa was held conducted by Principal of Kurigram Alia Madrasha Maolana Mohammad Noor Bakhta. Later a discussion meeting was held at Sheikh Rasel Auditorium organized by district administration. DC Mohammad Saidul Arif, S.P Al Asad Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, president of district unit of AL and also chairman of Kurigram Zila Parishad (Former MP) Alhaj Mohammad Jafar Ali, General Secretary of district unit of AL Aman Uddin Ahmed Monju, Mayor of Kurigram municipality Kaziul Islam and principal and Kurigram Law College, PP and eminent lawyer advocate Abram Lincoln spoke among others.
On the other hand, district AL arranged for hoisting flag formally in party office, Milad Mahfil,doa and discussion meeting.
Chaired by president of district unit of AL and also chairman of Kurigram Zila Parishad (Former MP) Alhaj Mohammad Jafar Ali, General Secretary of district unit of AL Aman Uddin Ahmed Monju, vice president chashi Karim,SM Abraham Lincoln, Robi Bose, SM Sanalal Bokshi,Akbar Ali, ANM Obaidur Rahman, Mostafizar Rahman Saju,Ataur Rahman Biplob and Mahfuz Rahman spoke Among others.On the other hand, president of district unit of AL and also chairman of Kurigram Zila Parishad Alhaj Mohammad Jafar Ali, Assistant Engineer of Zila Parishad Md. Mizanur Rahman,Zila Parishad member Minhajul Islam Ayub, Sheuly Begum,Daizy Begum, Zohir Uddin, Enamul Haque, Harun-ur Rashid,Ekramul Haque Bulbul and staff of Zila Parishad placed floral wreath to the portrait of Bongobondhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman on the day.
 At the end of offering floral wreath a Doa Mahfil was also held.The 52nd anniversary of the epoch marking speech delivered by Bangobandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman at Surawardy Udyan the then Race Course in Dhaka on March 7, 1971 that inspired the nation to fight for independence.
Senior Staff Reporter, Rangpur: The historic March 7 was celebrated with huge enthusiasm here Tuesday with paying rich homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with a renewed pledge for building a developed Sonar Bangla.
The divisional, district and police administrations, other government departments, Awami League and its associate bodies and many other organisations and institutions chalked out daylong programs marking the day.
 The District Shilpokola Academy, Rangpur City Corporation and different educational institutions separately organized programs and competitions for children and distributed prizes among winners of the competitions marking the day.
The programs included competitions for children and students on drawing, poem recitation, easy writing and delivering of Bangabandhu’s Historic March 7 Speech by children, quiz competitions, doa mehfils, discussion, prize distribution and cultural functions.
The celebrations began with hoisting of national flag followed by placing of wreaths at the portrait and mural of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Square followed by the daylong programmes.
 Divisional Commissioner Md. Sabirul, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range Police Mohd Abdul Alim Mahmud, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Nure Alam Mina, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen, Superintendent of Police Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury and District Council Chairman and former Rangpur district unit Commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad heroic freedom fighter Mosaddek Hossain Bablu placed wreaths at Bangabandhu’s mural in the city.
 The district administration organized the main discussion at the District Shilpokola Academy auditorium with the Deputy Commissioner in the chair.
 The Divisional Commissioner, DIG, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, District Council Chairman, heroic freedom fighters, academics, intellectuals and civil society members addressed the discussion.
After hoisting national and party flags and placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at their respective offices in the morning, leaders of district and city units of AL and its associate bodies brought out rallies and placed wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu.
