4 members of Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal held

The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four members of the banned militant outfit Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya from Patiya upazila of Chattogram.
They were detained in a drive conducted by RAB-7 in the area around 11 pm on Tuesday (February 28).
The arrestees have been identified as Hossain Ahmed, (22), Nihal Abdullah, (19), Al Amin, (22), and Al Amin Prokash Parth Kumar Das, (21).
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB’s Legal and Media Wing, revealed the information while briefing the media on Wednesday (March 1) in the port city.
According to RAB officials, the arrestees left home to join the militant group. They encouraged their friends, family members to join them, showing several videos related to the repression on Muslims in different countries in the world.

They took military training in the Chattogram Hill Tracts for the so-called “Hijrat” (migration). Four-day earlier they came to Tangabati area of Bandarban from the deep forest.

The elite force conducted a drive on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway in Patiya Bypass area of Chattogram around 11 pm on Tuesday and arrested the four members of the outfit.

Meanwhile, four to five members of the group managed to flee the spot, RAB officials added.

In 2019, ‘Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya’ (Jamatul Ansar of Eastern Hind) was formed.
