Fire breaks out in Fenchuganj

A terrible fire has occurred in Fenchuganj East Market of Sylhet on Sunday. 8 shops in the market have been destroyed in this terrible fire. The fire incident took place in the upazila’s East Market at around 11:30 pm on Sunday.
On receiving the information, Fenchuganj Fire Service unit reached the spot and brought the fire under control in about two and a half hours. Locals said that in the fire, the goods of 8 shops including yarn, bicycle, groceries, money and furniture were damaged to the tune of 3 crore rupees. However, no casualty occurred in this incident.
Sarwar Hossain, station firefighter of Fenchuganj Fire Service, said that the fire service unit reached the spot and brought the fire under control in about two and a half hours. Initially, it appears that the fire started from an electronic short circuit. All the goods of 8 shops including money and furniture were burnt. According to the calculations of the traders, the total loss is about 3 crore rupees. However, no casualty occurred in this incident.
