Forest Department’s raid on bird market in Gazipur

Divisional Forest Officer of Dhaka Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Department Sharmin Akhtar has conducted the operation in Gazipur Tongi bird market on Sunday.
The Forest Department has raided the bird market in Gazipur Tongi. Divisional Forest Officer of Dhaka Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Department Sharmin Akhtar led programme.
Wildlife Inspector Nigar Sultana was present at this time. At the time of operation one Takshak, one Baghdas, six Purple Kalim birds, eight Doves and fourTia birds were recovered.
In addition to the campaign, the Divisional Forest Officer spoke to the traders to create awareness about the ban on buying and selling wild animals in the bird market. Later, Divisional Forest Officer Sharmin Akhter released the rescued wildlife in Gazipur Bhawal National Park in afternoon.
