Bhabna’s poetic film to pay tribute to language martyrs

Actress Ashna Habib Bhabna grew up as a dancer and apart from all of her multifaceted qualities
she loves being called a dance artiste first.
The artiste has showed her excellence not only in acting but also as an artiste and a writer as well.
Commemorating the International Mother Language, (February 21), UNESCO Dhaka Office paid tribute to all the Language Martyrs, upon releasing a poetic video titled ‘The Spirit of Rebel,’ the initiative is a tribute to the Language Movement Martyrs of 1952, said a press release.
The poetic film features Bhabna reciting Kazi Nazrul Islam’s ‘Bidrohi,’ and Maya Angelou’s ‘Still I Rise’ complementing them with her dance performance in a rebellious manner in the dark toned theme of rising out of ashes and winning the world.
Her performance was accompanied by Samiul Islam Pulock’s recitation of the poems of great poets and few warm up lines from Asmi Pradeep as well. Presented by Shwapnil Foundation Presentation, the project is has been visually directed by Rony Sarafat.
The poetic film concludes with showcasing one of Bhabna’s paintings. The art represents a woman who is the symbol of giving new life.
