Sammilito Cholochchitro Parishad agrees to import Indian movies

Entertainment Desk :
Sammilito Cholochchitro Parishad
has agreed to the importation
of Indian movies to Bangladesh.
The Film Council has presented
a proposal to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Sunday. However,
some clauses to the proposal
have been added.
While speaking in this regard, the Information and Broadcasting Minister said, “Earlier, the
demand for importation of movies had been presented by many
organisations, which I had
mentioned won’t be possible
if all the associated groups don’t come to a decision.”
He also said, “Similar initiatives had been taken earlier as well, which however was refuted by the Artistes’ Association and even other artistes. Now all of you have come together for the agreement and have signed it, thank you for coming to a decision.”
Dr Hasan Mahmud also talked about the current state of the film industry. He said that despite the
production of good movies, the commercial success of the movies
is not enough to run the theatres.
The proposal for importing Indian movies will prove to be a
well-thought solution that might bring audiences back to the cinema halls, he mentioned.
