Chanchal, Shamim and Hasan excited to get Joyraj’s National Award

‘Aranyak,’ one of Bangladesh’s leading theatre groups, consists of actors Chanchal Chowdhury, Shamim Zaman, Joyraj and AKhM Hasan. All four are great actors on the stage as well as in TV dramas. However, Chanchal Chowdhury and Joyaraj also starred in several popular movies. Chanchal has been awarded the National Film Award for his performance in movies long ago. This time, Joyaraj joined the series. He was awarded the 2021 National Film Award for his performance in Nurul Alam Atique’s ‘Lal Moroger Jhuti.’ Joyraj is going to receive this honor from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the month of March.
While talking about on receiving this award from friend-brother Joyraj, Chanchal Chowdhury from Kolkata said, “As a person, Joyraj is very
simple and ordinary. There is no sin in his mind. Friends
say brothers, as it was when we started working together
26 years ago, it is still the same. He is such a talented actor that he doesn’t get the time and opportunity to be involved with good work. But even then, this is the result of his efforts. I am very proud
of his achievement. His concentration and dedication to acting always impresses me. Congratulations to Joyaraj.”
Actor Shamim Zaman shared his feelings by this way, “He got this award because Joyaraj deserved it. We are all very happy with his achievement.”
Actor Joyraj told this correspondent, “My father died in 2019. When I first came to know about this award, I only felt this regret that I wish
I could have told this news
to my father. A National
Film Award winner is a huge achievement. I am blessed with the honor the state has given me, my family is very happy.”
Joyraj’s village home is at Dhubaria union in Nagarpur of Tangail district. He attached with ‘Aranyak’ in 1991. Ibtesham Mahmud Shyama is his wife and Ihan is his only children. Joyraj was born on
June 5 in 1972.
Joyraj acted in many other movies like ‘Komolar Rocket,’ ‘Matal,’ ‘Raat Jaga Phool,’ ‘Podmopuran,’ including Muhammad Hannan’s ‘Bikkhobh,’ and Kobori Sarwar’s ‘Ayna.’ The movie ‘Bubujan’ directed by Shamim Ahmed Rony starring him was
released yesterday.
Joyraj’s first TV performance was in the drama titled ‘Swapner Shohor’ written by his drama mentor Mamunur Rashid and produced by Mustafizur Rahman.
