25 Jamaat-Shibir men arrested in Kishoreganj

The Police have arrested at least 25 activists of Jamaat -e-Islami and its students wing Islami Chattra Shibir from processions, they brought out as part of their ongoing anti-government activities and vandalism surrounding the 46th foundation anniversary on Monday morning .
They were arrested from Parabhanga and Batrish area of Kishoreganj town
Police Super ( SP) of Kishoreganj Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PPM (Bar) told the New Nation that on the occasion of the foundation anniversary, the activists and supporters of Chhatra Shibir gathered and carried out sabotage activities.
When the police went there on receiving the information, the activists of the student camp attacked them with cocktail blasts and pelted bricks and sticks. 8 to 10 pilice members were injured.
Later the police blank fired at least 17 rounds of bullet to bring the vandalism under control and arrested 25 activists from the spot.
Among those arrested are Shafiullah (21), son of Abdus Salam of Bhatail village of Fourteenth Union of Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila, Chotan (16) son of deceased Sirajul Haque of Sultanpur village, Emdadul (22) son of deceased Alauddin of Ghagra village of Chandipasha union of Pakundia upazila, Bashir Uddin (23) son of Abdul Amin of Sararchar of Bajitpur upazila, Ataullah (23) son of Abu Bakkar of Baliapara village of Karimganj upazila, Ariful Islam (28) son of Sultan Uddin and Ahsan Habib (21) son of Hashem Uddin of Gachpara village of Nandail Upazila of Mymensingh district and others.
Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station OC Mohammad Dawood said that on Monday morning on the way to Hossainpur from Jailkhana Mor on the occasion of the founding anniversary, Jamaat-Shibir activists and leaders were carrying out sabotage activities. At that time, the vandals threw cocktails and threw bricks and sticks at the police.
To protect government property, the police blank fired 17 rounds of ballets to bring the vandas under control and arrested 25 people from the spot. All of them were wearing Jamaat-Shibir jerseys,
