DU BCL leader threatens water trader for extortion

A water trader complained that DU unit BCL leader threatens him over phone and later vandalised some water bottles of his shop by sending some BCL leaders after refusing to meet him for extortion.
That water trader of Ananda Bazar in the capital made this allegation against Imdadul Hasan alias Sohag, General Secretary of Dhaka University (DU)’s Amar Ekushey Hall unit BCL.
“Imdadul called him on January 30 for extortion and threatened him as he did not agree to meet him at hall for giving money,” Seeking anonymously, the trader told to the media.
“Later on January 31, Imdadul sent his some followers and vandalised water bottles of him,” according to the water trader.
An audio record of that threatening however, come to the media where it was also heard that the BCL leader threatening and abused him.
‘I will see you, how big you are!’ If you have a hobby to come to Ananda Bazar for business. I’ll see what kind of person you are,’ according to the audio clip.
Later, the BCL leader called again, while the trader said, “What does he want? The BCL leader replied, ‘You don’t understand, what do I want? The trader said, ‘I will not give you money. Then the leader said, ‘you won’t give me money, it’s okay.
Later, the BCL leader threatened, “I will see you and your younger brother. At that time the trader replied, I won’t pay any money, if necessary, I will leave the business.”
Moreover, it was not possible to contact with the accused after several phone calls.
BCL President Saddam Hossain in this regard said that action will be taken subject to investigation.
