Birth anniv of Jogendranath Mandal observed

On the occasion of the 119th birth anniversary of Mahapran Jogendranath Mandal, Law Minister of undivided India, the leader of oppressed and neglected masses, two day-long long programmes have been observed in his native village on Monday .
On the occasion of the birth anniversary festival, floral wreath given on his prtrait, discussion meeting and baul song were organized in his birth place at Maistarkandi village in Gournadi Upazila of Barishal.
President of Barthi Union Awami League and local UP Chairman Abdur Razzaq Howladar was the chief guest in the discussion meeting organized by Mahapran Jogendranath Mandal Smriti Parishad on Sunday evening under the chairmanship of Samaj Sebok Moktar Sikdar, convener of birth anniversary celebration committee.
Dinesh Jayadhar, lecturer of Govt. Sheikh Hasina Women’s College, Giyas Uddin Mia former president of Upazila Press Club, Manik Hasan, headmaster of Dhandoba Secondary School were special guests.
General Secretary of Smriti Parishad Dr. Manotosh Sarkar conducted a memorial service on Jogendranath Mandal’s biography in the light of history.
Information and Research Secretary of the Parishad Abdul Majeed Sardar, Assistant Headmaster Shyamal Jayadhar, veteran personality Montu Mandal and others addressed the programme.
Cultural programmes with Baul songs were performed at night during the festival.
