Mustard yield exceeds, target in Kapasia

The mustard farmers of Kulganga Char, who have cultivated mustard on the banks of Shitalakshya River in Kapasia of Gazipur, said that they got good yield by collecting seeds on their own initiative . Mustard had been cultivated in hundreds of bighas of land full of bees buzzing and flowering.
Ishab Ali’s son Zainal said that his land is 50 percent, he has cultivated mustard.”
Mustard seeds are used as fodder and to increase soil fertility.
Wasim, Deputy Assistant Agricultural worker of Kulganga area, said that mustard has been cultivated in this pasture of Kulganga village on about 55 bighas of land. Farmers together cultivate Tori Seven mustard in this pasture. We give fourteen seeds in turn. Fourteen seeds are high in oil. I want to display Bari seeds but the display seeds are late. Farmers cultivated tori before government seed was given. There is no display signage as the seeds arrive late. He said, fourteen seeds yield more. Tory Seven yields less.
 Kapasia Upazila Agriculture Officer Suman Kumar Bashak said that the mustard production target in Kapasia was 150 hectares. Over 165 hectares of land has been cultivated with mustard. Agricultural materials including seeds will be distributed to fodder farmers in the future.
