New UNO Mamata visits Ramgarh Public Library

New UNO Mamata Afrin visited the traditional Ramgarh Public Library on Saturday .
The library was established in 1958, almost 64 years ago. Mamata Afrin is the cadre officer of the 34th BCS (Administration) . She has joined Ramgarh as UNO on January 11. When she visited the Ramgarh Public Library on Saturday afternoon, (s)he was welcomed by library’s General Secretary and journalist Md. Nizam Uddin Lavlu. The public library was established at the initiative of the then SDO Abdus Salam in Ramgarh, a former sub-divisional town established in 1920. The then Headmaster of Ramgarh Government High School Loknath Barua and local conscious citizens gave him full support in establishing this public library. Later, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s younger sister Hamida Begum’s husband, ATM Syed Hossen, after joining as second officer of Ramgarh Sub Division in 1964, greatly developed the public library.
