Bashundhara Group announces ‘Bashundhara Media Award 2022’

Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, has announced to organise ‘Basundhara Media Award-2022’ maintaining the continuity of awards in investigative journalism. A notification has already been published asking for reports for ‘Basundhara Media Award-2022’.
As previously announced, this time the prize volume and value has been increased. A total of 25 people will get awards in 10 categories. Two awards in photography and journalism categories to get Tk 2.5 lakh. The value of the prizes has been estimated at Tk 23.5 million. Apart from the money, each of the winners will receive a crest and certificate as well.
Bashundhara Group, an organisation dedicated to the welfare of the country and people, started giving media awards for the first time in the country last year.
On that occasion, Chairman of the group Ahmed Akbar Sobhan announced that the value of the next prize will be Tk 10 lakh each.
Accordingly, reports have been invited for 25 awards in 10 categories this time.
According to Bashundhara Media Award organising committee sources, Bashundhara Media Award-2022 will be handed over through a splendid arrangement like last time. Journalists working in newspapers, online newsportals, television and radio of the country can apply for Bashundhara Media Award-2022. For the award, reports published or circulated between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022 is requested to be submitted to the specified address.
The report must be accompanied by a copy of the passport size photograph along with the candidate’s name, e-mail, mobile number and current workplace address in Bengali and English.
Awards in categories: Investigative reports, video or audio reports and photographs are invited in 10 categories. The categories are Liberation War, Education, Health, Economy, Crime, Women and Children, Environment-Climate and Migration, Investigative Documentary, Photography and Video Journalism.
Among these, awards will be given for the best investigative reporting in print, online, television as well as radio in the Liberation War category. Awards will be given to the top 3 investigative reports in print, online, and electronic media in the categories of Crime & Corruption, Women & Children, Environment, Climate & Migration, Economy, Health and Education. One will be selected for Best Investigative Documentary. Two prizes will be awarded for the best investigative video and photography. Video journalists are not required to submit separate reports. A jury will select the Best Investigative Video Journalist from among the reports submitted in the Television and Investigative Documentary category.
Application Rules: Reports, documentaries and photographs can be submitted by courier, e-mail or directly to the office of East West Media Group.
The name of the desired category must be mentioned on the envelope or in the subject of the e-mail at the time of submission. A reporter can submit a report in only one category. However, if it is a series report, multiple reports can be submitted.
