CID raids capital’s five money exchange offices

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bangladesh Police raided money exchange houses in five areas in the capital city on Tuesday.
The drives were carried out in Gulshan, Uttara, Motijheel, Ashkona and Paltan areas on allegations of dollar pricing issues and facilitating hundi (illegal money transfer to/from abroad), said Azad Rahman, additional superintendent of police.
CID will hold a press briefing regarding the matter today and further details will be given there, CID officials added.
Earlier on August 2 last year, Bangladesh Bank had suspended the license of five money changers. Apart from this, 42 money exchanges have been served notice by the BB.
