Aurthohin releases ‘Phoenix er Diary-1’

Popular band group, Aurthohin released their latest album titled ‘Phoenix er Diary-1’ on YouTube channel
a day earlier than the planned release date.
Aurthohin was on a hiatus for the past four years. Once they resumed performing live, the band announced (last year) that they will be releasing
an album ‘just for the Aurthohin fans’ in 2022,
said a press release.
The new album features eight tracks in total. Some of the songs have references to Bassbaba Sumon’s struggles with cancer and his resurgence
just like a phoenix.
All the current members of Aurthohin had active involvement in creating the album. Most of the lyrics and tunes were by Sumon.
Mahaan Fahim and Shishir Ahmed played the
guitars. Shishir also played keyboard segments on the album. Mark Don played the drums and tabla.
Basically Aurthohin surprised their fans
with new album
‘Phoenix Er Diary-1.’ The band released their
album at Dhaka Rock Fest-3.0, and then eventually released it on YouTube. Bassbaba Sumon announced the release of the album through his
official Facebook post.
Later, he came into Facebook live and said, “Though we had plans to give a surprise to the audience but didn’t plan it this way. This album was
an adventure for us too.”
The album comprises eight songs. The band
made this album in only 22 days.
The first installment of the album consists of songs such as ‘Aamar E Gaan,’ ‘Adbhut,’ ‘Aajibon,’ ‘Nithor,’ ‘Jokhon Tumi Nai,’ ‘Bidrohi,’ ‘Shopnogulo’ and ‘Phoenix 1.’
The current line-up of the band is Saidus Sumon, Shishir Ahmed, Mahaan Fahim, and Mark Don Sarker.
