Ctg Lions Eye Institute, Hospital opens

Lions Eye Institute and Hospital established by Chattogram Lions Foundation with the aim of creating skilled manpower with modern facilities and providing personalized medical services, started the institute’s journey by conducting the orientation programme of Ophthalmic Assistance Course (MLOP) on Monday. The chief guest in the orientation programme was the Chairman of Chattogram Lions Foundation, ex-district governor Lion Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, the chief speaker was the principal of Chattogram Lions Eye Institute and Hospital, Prof Dr. Prakash Kumar Chowdhury. The special guest was the Vice Chairman of the foundation, former District Governor Lion Kamrun Malek, secretary Lion Dr. Debashish Dutta and Senior Consultant Dr. Altaf Uddin Khan. Dr. Anindita Chowdhury moderated the program while Deputy Director of the hospital Dr. Shabana Sultana was in overall supervision.
Sheikh Kamal Jubo Games inaugurated

The Sheikh Kamal Second Bangladesh Jubo Games was inaugurated at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura on Wednesday. DC of Bogura Md Saiful Islam has inaugurated the games and the whole programme was presided over by the General Secretary of District Sports Association (DSA), Bogura Masudur Rahman Milon. In the opening day, the games was commenced the competitions of “Usshu” and “Taikond” games. Bangladesh Olympic Association has arranged the games while the games was sponsored by Bangladesh Association of Bankers and managed by Bogura District Sport Association. Other guests were the representative of Bangladesh Olympic Association Khandakar Iddrish Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner Motahar Hossain, Additional General Secretary of DSA, Bogura Sultan Mahmud Khan Rony, Vice-President of DSA Nurul Alam Tutul and others.
Organisers said that total 8 events will be held in the competition of the games like Football, Kabadi, Chess, badminton, athletes, Swimming, Usshu and Taikond and in the 8 events around 520 sports men will take part in the competitions upto 10th of the instant.
