JP’s Mostofa ahead in Rangpur City polls

Results of 141, out of 229 polling centres, have been declared after the counting of votes in Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) election on Tuesday evening.
Earlier, the counting started after the conclusion of casting of ballots throughout the day.
The results showed that Jatiya Party candidate Mostafizar Rahman Mostofa was ahead in 141 polling centers receiving 83, 428 votes.
His nearest rival Amiruzzaman Piyal from Islami Andolon Bangladesh got 28,869, votes with ‘Hand Fan’ symbol, Independent candidate Latifur Rahman bagged 19,232 votes with ‘Elephant’ symbol and Awami League candidate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia secured 13,913 votes in the 141 polling centers.
