Prices of spices increases

The price of spices has suddenly increased in the wholesale market of consumer goods in Khatunganj. Importers and traders claim that this situation has arisen due to the decrease in imports due to the dollar crisis and inability to open LCs. It is known that small and large size cardamom is being sold at 1600 to 1800 taka. The price has increased from Tk 350 to Tk 450 per kg.
Cumin per kg increased by Tk 150 and is being sold at Tk 580. Raisins are being sold at Tk150 to 200.
Cinnamon has increased by Tk 150 and is being sold at Tk 400 to Tk 450. The price of pepper has increased from Tk 80 to Tk 120 per kg. The price of cloves has increased. Dry chillies are being sold at Tk 560, up from Tk 420. Besides, the price of spices including nutmeg, coriander, turmeric, jaitri has increased by Tk 50-100.
