Old warm clothes’ shops crowded in Lalpur

At the beginning of the month of Poush, winter has set in Lalpur upazila of Natore. The entire area is covered in thick fog from midnight to 8/9 am. The temperature was 16 degree celsius and day temperature was 25 degree Celsius on Sunday.
Lower and middle-class people flock to old warm clothing shops on the sidewalks to escape the harsh winter. Overcrowding was observed in the old warm cloth shop of Karitala in the Gopalpur municipal area of the upazila on Sunday afternoon. Each old sweater, jacket is being sold for Tk 100 to Tk 500 depending on the size and quality. Hat 50 taka, foot socks Tk15-20 pair and muffler 100 taka. There are also old sheets, blankets.
Sohail, a seller of old warm clothes, said that the sale of maplars, sweaters and jackets has increased due to the increase in winter for two days. Foot socks, hats are also selling well. Along with men, women are also coming to the store. It gets more crowded in the afternoon.
Lalpur Upazila Chairman Isahaq Ali said that winter clothes will be distributed among the poor people of the upazila very soon.
