Fire at Sitakundu’s BM Depot Container again

A fire broke out again at Chattogram’s BM Container Depot on Tuesday afternoon (December 13).
Sources said the incident took place around 3:00pm in a jute container stored in the depot shed.
Later, on information two fire units rushed to the spot and doused the fire explosion.
Md Feroz Khan, official at Kumira Fire Service Station confirmed the matter to the media and said that ”We arrived at the scene around 3:30pm after receiving information about the fire. The fire was quickly brought under control after the efforts of our two units. The cause of the fire is unknown. We’re still working on the scene.”
‘It is a minor fire incident. It wasn’t as terrible as the last time,’ he added.
Tofayel Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakundu Police Station, said that a police team also worked with the firefighting teams.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
Earlier on late June 4, BM Depot was the victim of an explosion that claimed 51 lives, including members of the fire services, and left more than 200 people injured.
