Political parties condemn attack on BNP

The Left Democratic Alliance has condemned the clash between police and BNP leaders-workers in front of the BNP office in Nayapaltan. The police attack was condemned at the central office of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) on Wednesday.
President of CPB Mohammad Shah Alam, General Secretary of Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (Basad) Bajlur Rashid Feroz, Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Abdus Sattar of Revolutionary Biplobi League, General Secretary of Democratic Biplobi Party Moshreda Mishu and President of Socialist Movement Hamidul addressed the meeting under the chairmanship of Ruhin Hossain Prince, Coordinator of Left Alliance and General Secretary of CPB.
Apart from this, Peshajibi Parishad’s Convener Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain and its Member Secretary Kader Ghoni Chowdhury in a statement expressed their condemnation for the attack on the BNP men and killing one and leaving hundred others injured.
Leaders of the Left Alliance said that assembly is a democratic and constitutional right. The current Awami League government has become desperate to stay in power in a dictatorial and fascist manner by taking away this right.
The Left Alliance calls upon everyone to build unity to maintain democratic rights and to stand against the attempts to snatch democratic rights. The CPB in a separate statement condemned the police attack in front of the BNP office at Nayapaltan and said that one cannot remain in power by taking away the democratic right of assembly in a dictatorial manner.
National Liberation Council Secretary Faizul Hakim said in a statement that the BNP’s Dhaka Division mass meeting is scheduled to be held in Dhaka on December 10, which is not difficult to understand the attack of the police to thwart.
In a statement, Ganasanghati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki and Abul Hasan Rubel, the Executive Coordinator, said that the police had shot and killed one.
This means that the government wants to make this brutal killing of people a regular affair. The government is doing all this to perpetuate their illegal and monstrous power.
Islami Andolan Bangladesh Ameer Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim said that the current Awami League government is ruthlessly taking away these basic rights of a people’s independent state. They have been directly and indirectly obstructing the peaceful gatherings of the opposition parties. In continuation of that, they have created a tense and violent situation around the opposition party’s rally in Dhaka on December 10.
Condemning and protesting, Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum said in a statement that the people of the country are united today against the authoritarian rule of 14 years. The vast masses of the country are ready to agitate for the establishment of a caretaker government.
Mostafa Mohsin Montu, President of the public forum, Executive President Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed, General Secretary Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, Executive President Advocate AKM Jaglul Haider Afrik, Advocate Mohiuddin Abdul Quader and Senior Joint General Secretary Ayub Khan Faruqar said in a joint statement that the people do not want the police to be used as a tool or stick by any party or government. . They demanded the immediate release of the arrested as well as a judicial inquiry into the attack.
Member-Secretary of AB Party Mojibur Rahman Monju said that for the past few days, I have been protesting against the threats, intimidation and the activities of spreading tension by the leaders and ministers of the government party. Violence has been systematically incited by police deployment in Nayapaltan area in a completely unjust manner.
Liberal Democratic Party-LDP President Colonel (Retd.) Dr. Oli Ahmed, President of Nagrik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Chairman of Bangladesh Kalyan Party Major General (retd.) Syed Mohammad Ibrahim, convener of Bhasani Anusari Parishad Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Chairman of National People’s Party-NPP Fariduzzaman Farhad, Chairman of Labor Party Mostafizur Rahman Iran and Doctors Association of Bangladesh – DAB condemned and protested attack on the democratic reghts.
