1500 BNP men arrested in spl drives across country

At least 285 people were arrested on the sixth day of a special police operation by the DMP in the capital. Till Tuesday (December 6), 1,012 people have been arrested in this operation in Dhaka alone.
Faroq Hossain, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP, confirmed this information to the media on Tuesday evening.
In this regard, BNP says that in the name of special drives, police rushes house-to-house daily and have been arresting hundreds of leaders and activists of BNP and their relatives, drivers as well as their assistants.
The arrest of opposite leaders and activities has created a reign of terror in the country, BNP leaders added.
The BNP claimed that at least 1500 people, including its leaders and activists as well as their family members were being arrested and several hundred cases have been filed in the last 6 days across the country.
On Tuesday, marking the upcoming mass rally in capital, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon everyone not to have any doubts about the December 10 mass rally. He said, the people of the country have woken up, now it is the time to move forward. The government is nervous. That is why it is creating such a situation that we cannot hold a rally.
He urged not to be confused about the rally on December 10 in capital and people will have new dreams from that day.
He said, considering the context of snatching two sentenced militant accused from police custody in Dhaka CMM court area on November 20, the police headquarters ordered a special operation from December 1 to 15. The ongoing operation aims at ensuring the safety and smoothness of the Great Victory Day, Christmas and Thirty-First Night celebrations.
