Strengthen security of all courts: SC

The Supreme Court (SC) administration has given instructions to strengthen the security of all courts across the country.
Country’s apex court, the Supreme Court, on Sunday issued the directive immediately after the incident that took place in Dhaka court premises.
Two death row convict JMB militants escaped from police custody on the Dhaka court premises spraying gas at police on Sunday.
 Supreme Court Registrar Mohammad Saifur Rahman said that instruction issued to beef up security measures in all courts of the country to avert such incident.
 He further said that the SC has ordered the administrations for strengthening the security of courts across the country.
Abu Siddique Sohail and Moinul Hasan Shamim, who were sentenced to death on the charge of killing Jagriti Prakashani owner Faisal Arefin Dipan, were brought to the court.
After being brought to the court, two members of the banned militant organization Ansar al-Islam fled by spraying gas in the eyes and faces of the police.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media) Farooq Hossain said that the two convicts, who were sentenced to death by the special anti-terrorism tribunal of Dhaka, escaped from the court premises.
 Witnesses said that they sprayed gas at the police and fled quickly on a motorcycle prepared in advance. The driver of the motorcycle was another person.
Checkposts have been set up in different parts of the capital to catch the two fugitive militants. Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a red alert to nab the accused.
