3 killed in Narsingdi road accident

At least three men were killed and 10 others were seriously injured in a three-way collision among two buses and a pickup on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district on early Tuesday.
The victims were identified as Sanand Das (55) from Dighirpara village of Sarail upazila and Renu Mia (66) from Sarail and Kamal (35) from Narsingdi.
The other injured are pickup driver Abdul Jalil (55), helper Md. Mahmud Ali (34), Keshav Das (25), Sudhansho Das (45), Sabuj Mia (33) from Dharmatirth village in Sarail upazila.
They all belong to the same upazila and are fishmongers by profession. The injured are undergoing treatment in Bhairab and Kishoreganj hospitals. According to the highway police, a BRTC bus was standing on the side of the road in Nilkuti area of Raipura upazila in the early morning due to a burst of a wheel. At that time, a three-way collision took place between a Dhaka bound bus from Habiganj and a pickup loaded with fishermen from Sarail in Brahmanbaria. Two people died on the spot.
The Officer in Charge ( OC) of Bhairab Highway Police Station Mozammel Haque said that, the bodies of the deceased are kept at the Bhairab Highway Police Station. Three vehicles have been impounded and brought to the police station, the OC added.
