The case filed over the killing of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student, Fardin Nur Parash, has been handed over to detective branch (DB) of Dhaka metropolitan police (DMP).
Additional commissioner, Harun Ur Rashid, informed the media of the matter on Thursday afternoon at DMP media centre at a press conference.
Harun Ur Rashid said, “Fardin went missing on 4 November and his father filed a general diary (GD) with Rampura police station on 5 November. Then, we started a shadow investigation. On 7 November, his body was recovered from Shitalakkhya river. After two days, his father lodged a murder case at Rampura police station on Wednesday night.”
“Fardin’s friend, Ayatullah Bushra, has been accused in the case. We questioned her earlier and showed her arrested after the case was filed. We will interrogate her on remand,” he added.
Harun Ur Rashid further said, “We are checking the CCTV footage. At this moment, it is not possible to say how the incident took place. We need more time. Two to three of our teams are working on it. The investigation is underway considering the relevant issues”. Earlier on Thursday morning, police arrested Fardin’s friend Bushra, a student of East West University, from her residence at Rampura in Dhaka.
Rampura Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam confirmed her arrest to The New Nation, saying that Bushra was arrested over the murder of Fardin.
Nur Uddin Rana, father of Fardin, filed a murder case with Rampura Police Station against several suspects including Bushra on Wednesday night.
Hayatul Islam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Motijheel division said, Fardin’s girlfriend Bushra was arrested in connection with the murder and she will be interrogated.
BUET student Fardin’s real secret of murder is known by his girlfriend Amatullah Bushra. It is because they (both) were together on the day of the incident, said Mohammad Golam Moula, Inspector (unarmed) of Rampura police station and also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case.
On Thursday, the IO produced Bushra to a Dhaka court, submitting a remand prayer.
Meanwhile, a Dhaka court yesterday placed Amatullah Bushra, the prime accused in the murder of BUET student Fardin Noor Parash, on a five-day remand.
Magistrate Mehedi Hasan of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order after police placed her in the court, seeking a seven-day remand.
No lawyer stood to defend her in the court.
Meanwhile, family members of Bushra claimed she is completely innocent and has been falsely implicated in the Fardin murder case.
“Fardin dropped Bushra from a rickshaw in Rampura TV center area from where her mess is at a 10-minute distance. She went straight to the mess and did not go outside”,her uncle Mazharul Azam told the media.
She was falsely trapped in the case, he claimed.
Bushra uncle further claimed that CCTV footage near her hostel shows that she was walking towards her mess alone on November 4.
