ICC T20 World Cup started in South Africa in 2007. Bangladesh defeated West Indies in the final phase of that gala extravaganza. After that, Bangladesh could not get any victory in the main phase of T20 World Cup before Bangladesh beat Netherlands in the ‘Super Twelve’ phase of ICC T 20 World Cup match in Australia on Monday last. After the match, Captain of Bangladesh T20 Cricket team Shakib Al Hasan said, ” This victory is very vital. I have played all sorts of matches of ICC World Cup. But we could not get any victory for a long time.”
Bangladesh defeated Netherlands by nine runs in their ‘Super Twelve’ phase in their first match of Group-2 of the ICC T20 World at Hobart in Australia yesterday. Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed played the key role for the nine-run victory. Taskin Ahmed captured two wickets of Netherlands team in his early two deliveries of his first over. Bangladesh scored 144 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs and set a target of 145 runs to win for Netherlands.
Shakib said, ” We scored below ten runs from our target. But our pacers showed extra-ordinary performance. We have understood the importance of the pacers. Hasan Mahmud is a talented pacer. Taskin is now a quality pacer.”
 Shakib is highly satisfied with the fielding of his teammates. He said, ” As a promising side, we want to be a best fielding side. I believe now that we can save at least 10 run by performing a good fielding, which will make difference from our opponents.”
