Vegetable seeds for farmers allotted in Jamalpur
 JAMALPUR : Agriculture Department has taken an incentive programme on vegetable cultivations, involving Tk 7.15 lakh, for flood affected farmers in the district during this Robi season. Under the programme, 7140 small and marginal farmers who lost crops in the recent flood will get the incentive on five vegetables. According to Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources each of the farmer will get seeds for cultivation vegetable on 13 decimal of land. The vegetable seeds are tomato, brinjal, red amaranth, Palong shak and Bottle gourd. Additional Deputy Director, DAE, Muhammad Harun-Or- Rashid said after Upazila wise allocation of farmers, the incentive will be disbursed as soon as possible, reports BSS.

Two minor girls electrocuted in Habignaj
HABIGANJ : Two minor girls died after being electrocuted at Sultanshi village in Sadar upazila on Thursday.The deceased were identified as Shimla, 10, hailed from the village and Rozina, 10. They were cousins. They used to read in class four. Locals said Shimla and Rozina came to contact with a live wire while playing on ceiling at home. They were brought to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where the duty doctor declared them dead. Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Golam Mortuza confirmed, reports BSS.

Woman jailed for life in Lakshmipur
LAKSHMIPUR : A court here Thursday sentenced a woman to life-term imprisonment in a drug case. District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Rahibul Islam handed down the verdict to Yasmin Akhter Koli, 36, an inhabitant of Hathazari upazila in Chattogram district. The court also fined Yasmin Tk 10000, in default, to serve one year more in jail. According to the prosecution, on January 8 this year Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) arrested Yasmin Akhter Koli with 5,850 pieces of yaba tablets from Hajiganj-Ramganj Road in Ramganj Upazila and filed a case Under Narcotics Control Act. Police pressed the charge sheet on February 11, reports BSS.
 
Motorcyclist killed in Hossionpur road accident

A teenager boy was killed and another injured after being hit by a tractor in Hossionpur town of Kishoreganj on Thursday. The deceased Rafiqul Omar (16), son of Sirajul Omar in Arabaria village of Hossionpur and another Enamul (15) ) serious. Enamul admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. According to the police and local sources, while Rafiqul and Enamul were going on a motorcycle, a tractor carrying sand from the opposite direction hit them on the Khurshid Mahal bridge in Hossionpur upazila. A unit of Hossainpur Fire Service rescued them and took them to the hospital where duty doctors declared Rafiqul dead. Injured Enamul has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Hossainpur OC (Investigation) Asaduzzaman Titu confirmed the truth of the incident .
