DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam retires on October 30

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam will retire on October 30.
A gazette notification signed by Dhananjoy Kumar Das, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Division of Home Ministry, was issued in this regard on Thursday (October 20).
Post-retirement leave from October 30, 2022, to October 29, 2023, has been approved in favour of retired Commissioner of Police (Additional IGP, Grade-1) Md Shafiqul Islam by notification dated 28 October 2021 of the Ministry of Public Administration, said the notification.
He will get all retirement and post-retirement leave benefits as per the rules, the notification said.
Md Shafiqul Islam took over the charge of Commissioner of Dhaka
Metropolitan Police on September 7, 2019.
Earlier, he served as Additional Inspector General of Police in the Crime Investigation Bureau of Bangladesh police.
He began his career in 1989 as Assistant Superintendent of Police as the 8th Bangladesh Civil Service cadre (police).
