Uncle allegedly killed over land dispute in Kapasia

The nephew is accused of beating his uncle to death due to land dispute in Kapasia, Gazipur. The brutal incident took place on Wednesday morning in Sultanpur village of Tok union of the upazila. The deceased Mofizul Islam (55) son of Amcher Ali alias Tufan Mia of that village.
According to the deceased’s relatives and police station sources, his elder brother Nabi Hossain had a dispute over land with Mofizul of Sultanpur village of Tok union of the upazila.
At 7 am, the deceased Mofizul Islam and his son Masud Rana had breakfast from the hotel in Tokonnayan Bazar Aizul and were on their way to the upazila with land related documents.
When they reached the place called Kanarmor in the same area, they beat up their nephew Noor Hossain, grandson Maqbul and a youth named Mofiz Uddin who were scoundrels named Akash. left at the road junction.
On their call, the locals rescued Mofizul and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Kapasia police station officer-in-charge (OC) AFM Nasim said, the body has been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Legal action is pending.
