Man convicted of raping teenager caught after 18 years

A man who was sentenced to death for raping a teenage girl (13) at Sonagazi in Feni district 18 years ago in 2003 has been arrested.
The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Latu Mia, alias Ali Nabi,55, from city’s Badda area on Monday.
 Lt Col Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed, Commander of RAB-3, said it in a press conference at RAB Media Centre, Kawran Bazar in the capital on Tuesday noon.
According to the RAB officials, four death-row convicts namely Latu Mia, Faruk, Jahangir Alam and Kashem dragging a widow and her 13-year-old daughter out of their house breaking the doors at Nababpur union under Sonagazi upazila in themidnight on May 13, 2003, gang raped the victim girl in front of her mother making her hostage at gunpoint.
