Anti- tobacco campaign lunched

The Anti -tobacco Task Forces meeting, organised by Civil Surgeon( CS) Office including District Administration in Kishoreganj at Collectorate Conference Room on Monday noon.
Kazi Jebunessa Begum, Additional Secretary to World Health & Programme Director of the health services division in Health and Family Planing Ministry attended as chief guest while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Shamim Alam presided over.
Police Super( SP) Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PPM (Bar), ADM Farhad Chowdhury and Civil Surgeon( CS) dr.Saiful Islam were special guests.
It was addressed among others, Islamic Foundation Deputy Director Md. Mohashin, Senior Journalist Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu, Chanber president Mujibur Rahman Belal, SNIMCH Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Wahab Badal and dr.Mahabubur Rahman.
The Additional Secretary kazi Jebunessa Begum said tobacco harms environment, public health and economy at all stages of cultivation, processing and consumption. He hoped the campaign will help bring change in people’s mindset.
She also said smoking is a gateway to drug abuse and said youths are being driven to drugs through it.
