The present government is dependent on the bureaucracy and the police. The government is repeatedly taking anti-people decisions by stealing votes without considering the public opinion.
The democratic rights and the right to adult franchise is gone and the people have no confidence in the election under a party government. Ruhin Hossein Prince, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Coordinator of the Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) said this while addressing a press conference in the city’s Maitri Auditorium at the Central Office of CPB on Tuesday.
“In order to have a fair election, the electoral system should be radically reformed, including the resignation of the government. Election should be held under a non-partisan supervision government by dissolving the parliament,” he said in a written statement.
The survival of the country’s people has become difficult, he said adding that the income of the common people does not increase, but the prices of daily commodities including rice, pulses and oil have rise.
About 73 percent people in the country have reduced their food intake due to financial crisis, he added.
Among others, General Secretary of Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) Bazlur Rashid Firoz, Executive President of Samajtantrik Andolon Abdul Bari, CPB Assistant General secretary Mihir Ghosh and Assistant General Secretary of BSD Razekuzzaman Ratan were present during the press briefing.
