Criminal arrested in Gafargaon

A man was held in Gafargaon for raped a disable girls(14)in Gafargaon of Mymensingh.When the incident came to light the local people arrested him on Monday and handed him over to the police. Arrested man was identified as Liton,55, son of Ahmad Ali of Kandapara village of Zoshora union of the upazila.
It is known that after the death of Billal Hossain of Kandapara village of Yashra Union of the upazila, his wife got married elsewhere and left home. Later, the disabled daughter of deceased Billal Hossain was taken care of by her grandfather.About 5 months ago disabled girl was raped by the uncle Liton house. Due to raped the disabled girl got pregnant after Liton aborted the girl with the help of his wife Kalpana Khatun.The disabled girl became ill. When the matter became known in the area the rapist Liton committed suicide.
Later, the local residents brought the rapist Liton back to the area and handed him over to the police.
Rakib (19), elder brother of the rapist, said that Liton took my disabled sister to their house and raped her several times. I want justice for the rapist.
Gafargaon thana officer-in-charge Faruq Ahamed said that the victim’s brother has filed a case as a plaintiff in this regard. The rapist has been arrested. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused.
