DB arrests 7 members of a gang for making fake cosmetics

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP has seized a large quantity of adulterated cosmetics of domestic and foreign brands in a raid at Kamrangirchar in the capital. At that time, seven dishonest traders were arrested from the factory.
DB of Lalbagh Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted the operation on Monday.
This was informed in a press release signed by Moshiur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of DB Lalbagh Division on Tuesday.
The arrested accused persons are identified as Md. Zahid Khan alias Badsha, Md. Arif Hossain, Md. Nazim Uddin alias Biplob, Rabiul Hossain alias Robin, Md. Maruf Hossain, Md. Jamal Hossain and Md. Haron.
According to the press release, the anti-illegal drugs team led by the DC and Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DB Lalbagh Division raided two flats on the sixth floor of a six-storey building in Balurmath area under Kamrangirchar.
According to the DB, there are various types of raw materials, finished fake foreign hair oil, different brands of body lotion, hair color, hair oil, hair spa, face wash, different types of creams, various brands of cosmetic boxes and tubes printed with bar codes- QR codes and the bottle illegally established in domestic factories was seized.
The cycle has been producing various adulterated foreign shampoo, oils, face washes, skin whitening creams, lotions, creams of famous brands and selling it in various supershops of the capital including Chawkbazar. Various wholesalers of Chawkbazar used to help them in this work.
A case has been filed against the arrested persons under the Special Powers Act with the Kamrangirchar police station. An operation is underway to arrest the absconding accused and others involved, police officials added.
