Respiratory tracts of famous comedian actor Abu Hena Rony have been burnt in the explosion of helium balloons during a programme marking the 4th founding anniversary of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) on Friday evening.
Dr SM Ayub Hossain, Resident Surgeon of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) confirmed the matter to the media saying that “About 24 percent of the surface area of the body of the comedian was burnt in the blast.
His respiratory tracts have also been burnt seriously. He is now undergoing treatment at ICU of the hospital. He is not out of danger,” Dr SM Ayub Hossain said.
Earlier, five persons, including comedian Abu Hena Rony, sustained burn injuries after helium
balloons exploded at a programme marking the 4th founding anniversary of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) on Friday evening.
A probe body has been formed to investigate the gas balloon explosion that left Bangladeshi stand-up comedian Abu Hena Rony and four others injured on Friday.
Mollah Nazrul Islam, Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) confirmed the matter on Saturday (September 17).
Meanwhile, the four-member committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Abu Torab Shamsur Rahman was formed last night after the incident, said GMP Assistant Commissioner (Media) Abu Sayem Nayan. The committee has been asked to submit a report within three working days.
