Tigers need 129 to whitewash Zimbabwe

The host Bangladesh need only 129 runs to whitewash visiting Zimbabwe in a five-match Basundhara Cement ODI series in Mirpur on Monday. Zimbabwe scored a poor 128 runs with loss of all wickets in 30 overs. Zimbabwe made three changes to their XI and another to their tactics as they chose to set a target in Mirpur. Although batting has not been their strongest suit in this series and top-order wobbles have been a major reason for them crossing the 200-mark only once in five matches, they tinkered with their bowling line-up. Wicketkeeper batsmen Regis Chakabva and Peter Moor were benched in favour of offspinner John Nyumbu and Tinashe Panyangara, their pace spearhead. Neville Madziva lost his place in the side to Sikandar Raza. Bangladesh, leading 4-0 and looking to complete a second whitewash on Zimbabwe on this tour, handed debuts to seam-bowling allrounder Soumya Sarkar, who is slotted in at No. 3, and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam.
